Mechanical Engineer

Currently searching for a Mechanical Project Engineer with SolidWorks experience, and an emphasis on, or experience in machine design.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Design custom equipment using Solid Works software and directly oversee all assigned equipment design & build projects through their completion and provide engineering support to the machine design staff. Provide pro-active communication and customer contact as necessary to ensure that a high-value solution is provided to meet the application requirements.

PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Design custom and standard equipment based on a thorough understanding of the customers' specifications and specific application needs, using commonly accepted engineering practices and current industry standards.
2. Design machine control systems to meet customer specifications and application requirements, including development of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system schematics as applicable.
3. Provide engineering information and complete design documentation for manufacturing, and follow-up as necessary for the proper, timely, and cost-effective manufacture of the equipment.
4. Provide engineering expertise and support to machine design staff.
5. Perform troubleshooting and problem solving tasks on equipment in design, fabrication, assembly, and field installations.
6. Actively pursue and develop positive, long-term customer relationships by providing the highest level of customer service and by projecting a positive company image.
7. Work closely with vendors to become familiar with new and existing products and to stay up to date on leading edge technologies that could be used on our equipment.
8. Work with management to achieve department goals as they pertain to meeting product quality, project schedule and corporate financial objectives.
9. Work with all other team members to maintain a positive, enjoyable work environment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
--BS Degree - Mechanical Engineering
--Previous custom machinery design experience
--Proficiency in all SolidWorks software capabilities
--Attention to detail and work accuracy
--Microsoft Office literate - Excel, Word, Outlook
--Excellent written and verbal communication skills
--Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced, multiple-project environment
--Previous AutoCAD experience desirable but not mandatory
--Previous project management experience desirable but not mandatory
